First Northern Ireland School Success – St Oliver Plunkett Primary
A Belfast school, St Oliver Plunkett Primary, has become the first school in Northern Ireland to achieve the Social School Award. Lead in their submission by Clare Enright, their Social Media Team have been engaging with parents using social media since 2012.
The video, created as part of the submission from St Oliver Plunkett, is so insightful, clear and reflective in how it tells the school story that we thought you might like to watch it below. Contributing to the video are the school Principal, Social Team members, a Governor and a parent from the community. We’d like to thank the school for giving permission to share their video.
We are so pleased to be able to recognise the school and the certify the professional effort that went into reflecting upon, sharing and evidencing the school story so clearly. There were some key moments in their journey where the school’s ability to connect, promote and engage really shone through too.
Particular strengths of St Oliver Plunkett’s submission included well evidenced
- broad school buy-in by staff and students to the Cyber Tiger Cyber Cubs ‘movement’
- the breadth of expertise in the Social Media Team
- involvement of Safeguarding colleagues and
- how the school uses its creative Apple credentials in producing engaging content
The much-deserved Award & certification will be heading over to Belfast very soon with our thanks and recognition for all of the hard work and effort that clearly happens every single day. Congratulations!
